Diego Sorbara is an assistant managing editor at ProPublica. He helps ensure the consistency and quality of the newsroom’s work and oversees freelance reporting expenditures and production. Before joining ProPublica as the newsroom’s first standards editor in 2018, he worked for 10 years at The New York Times as a copy editor, a manager on the copy desk and a deputy editor of the newspaper’s international edition. He previously worked at the Rocky Mountain News in Denver as a copy editor and designer. Sorbara is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia.
